Digital Strategy & Roadmap
I help you decide what to do next with your website and digital tools, in what order and why, and set it out as a roadmap your team can follow, whoever carries out the work.
New v6 draft from the service brief, awaiting review
The problem
- You have a list of digital ideas and requests, and no clear way to choose between them.
- Past projects started with a tool or a supplier, not with what the business needed.
- Your team, your agency and your budget pull in different directions, and nothing moves.
What I do about it
- I start from your goals and constraints, then look at what you have today before suggesting anything new.
- I turn the options into a short list of priorities, each with its reason, effort, dependencies and risks.
- I write the roadmap so it can be carried out by your team, by me or by another supplier.

What you get out of it
You know what to do next, in what order and why, and you can explain the plan to your team, board or suppliers.
Who it’s for
- You lead a small or growing organisation and need to decide where digital effort should go next.
- You are preparing for a new website, a new system or a change of supplier and want a plan first.
- You want an independent view before committing budget.
If you already know the decision and need a review of one site, a website audit is more focused. If the question is which supplier or platform to choose, see technology and supplier assessment.
What’s included
Goals and constraints
What the organisation needs from its digital work, and the budget, time, skills and rules it has to work within.
Current state
A look at the website, tools, data and processes you have today, and what is working.
Options
The realistic ways forward, including doing less, each with its effort, risks and dependencies.
Priorities
A short, ordered list with the reason for each choice, so the order can be explained to others.
Roadmap
The priorities set out in phases, with what each phase needs and how you will know it worked.
Decision support
A session with the people who need to agree, to go through the roadmap and the trade-offs.
How it works
Listen
We talk through your goals, constraints and the decisions you are facing, with the people involved.
Review
I look at what exists today and gather the facts each option depends on.
Prioritise
I set out the options and a recommended order, and we test it together.
Plan
I write the roadmap and walk your team through it, ready for whoever does the work.
Questions people ask
Draft answers, to confirm
Do I have to hire you to carry out the roadmap?
No. The roadmap is written so your team or another supplier can follow it. If you want me to do some of the work, that is a separate agreement.
How long does it take?
It depends on the size of the organisation and the number of people involved. After a first conversation I propose a scope and timescale in writing.
Is this the same as the Digital Impact Partnership?
No. This is a defined piece of work with an end. The partnership is an optional ongoing arrangement for organisations that want continuing strategic support.
Tell me what you need to achieve.
We can work out the right next step before committing to a solution. You can book this on its own. An ongoing partnership is optional, never a requirement.
