Content Strategy & Copywriting

I decide what your website needs to say, to whom and in what order, then write or tighten the copy so a visitor knows what you offer and what to do next.

The problem

  • Your pages describe the business from the inside, and visitors cannot tell quickly what you offer or whether it is for them.
  • You are about to redesign or build a site, but nobody has decided what each page must say, so the text arrives late and gets squeezed into the layout.
  • The site has years of pages, some out of date or repeating each other, and you do not know what to keep before you write anything new.

What I do about it

  1. I work out who each page is for and what they need to decide, then write headings and copy in plain language that answer that first.
  2. I agree the content structure and messaging before design starts, so the layout is built around real text instead of placeholders.
  3. I inventory and review what exists, mark what to keep, improve, combine or remove, and only then plan new pages.

What you get out of it

A website whose pages say what you do, for whom, with claims you can stand behind, and a clear next step on each one.

Who it’s for

  • You run a service business or organisation and your website text has grown by accident rather than by plan.
  • You are planning a new site or a redesign and want the structure and wording settled before design and build begin.
  • You have a site that is accurate in places and wrong in others, and you want someone to check every claim against what is true today.
  • You write well enough yourself but want a second pair of eyes on structure, clarity and calls to action.

If you mainly want articles written to attract search traffic, the search and AI visibility work is the better fit, because it starts from search intent. If your pages read fine but the layout confuses people, a website audit or UX work will help more than new words.

What’s included

  • Content architecture

A map of the pages you need, what each one must say, for whom and in what order, decided before design.

  • Messaging

Plain statements of what you offer, who it suits and what you do differently, agreed with you before they appear on any page.

  • Content audit

A review of existing pages for accuracy, purpose, overlap and gaps, ending in a keep, improve, combine or remove decision for each.

  • Page copy

Headlines, body text and calls to action written for the reader's task on that page, in your voice.

  • Copy review

Your own draft edited for clarity, evidence and tone, with the reasons for each change so you can learn from it.

  • Page briefs

Short briefs for pages that others will write or design, so the words and the layout are planned together.

How it works

  1. Understand

We talk through your audience, your offer and what a visitor should do, and I read what the site says today.

  2. Structure

I propose the page map and the message for each page, and we agree it before any copy is written.

  3. Write

I draft or edit the copy page by page, marking any claim I cannot verify so you can supply the evidence or remove it.

  4. Refine

You review, I revise, and I check the final text against the structure, links and calls to action.

Questions people ask

Draft answers, to confirm

What is the difference between content strategy and copywriting?

Strategy decides which pages you need and what each must say. Copywriting is writing the words for them. You can buy either on its own, though the second goes better when the first is settled.

Do you write articles for SEO?

This service is about the pages that explain your business and move a visitor towards contact. Research-led articles written to be found in search sit with my search and AI visibility work.

Can you review copy I have already written?

Yes. I edit for clarity, structure and unsupported claims, and I explain the changes so your team can apply the same approach later.

Do you invent testimonials or results?

No. I only use evidence you can show. If a page needs proof you do not have, I leave the gap visible and tell you what is missing.
